Launching Prisma Project

The EU-funded project “Prisma” has officially started!
During the next 36 months, a multidisciplinary group of research institutions and companies – coming from 4 different countries – will work together to bring the next generation insulin delivery systems to life and address the principal barriers to the adoption of the insulin pumps.
Prisma Project aims to create an innovative pumping system in wearable insulin delivery devices for the treatment of diabetes, based on the novel ceria-based oxides actuating materials developed during FET-OPEN BioWings Project. Besides the short-term vision to realize extremely compact and accurate patch pumps and validate the pump and its manufacturing process in a real operating environment, the long term goal is to allow the realization of multi-drug delivery systems, making real the much-lauded multi-hormone treatment.
